Skjervoy in North Norway is an ideal angling centre located where the Arctic and the Gulf Stream meet with huge natural fish stocks. There are lots of good fishing marks within the Kvaenangen Fjord which is reasonably sheltered.

Skjervoy is undergoing major upgrades under new manager Roger. New boats will be introduced during 2018 – the Jeanneau Marlin 795. These will have Yamaha 115hp outboard petrol engines and on-board cabin heaters. They are licensed for 8 but good for 4 to 6 anglers. They are perfect for fishing March into October thus extending the season.

Martin Founds and Dave Lewis have just returned from Skjervoy testing the new Jeanneau boats. In early October the weather was unseasonably good with temperatures around 10Oc and calm seas. It was good to meet up with Sea Captain, marine pilot and experienced local fisherman Knut Arne Mikalsen. We caught cod, coalfish and mackerel with cod up to 20lbs. Fish were caught on perks and shads. The new Jeanneau Marlin boats to be based at Skjervoy will be the best boats in the Arctic. Call now to book for 2018.

Accommodation at Skjervoy is let from TUESDAY TO TUESDAY IN 2018 for either 7 or 14 nights.

There are 8 comfortable cabins with 2 bedrooms in each cabin, large shower room, open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen. Cabins are centrally heated and linen/towels are included. We recommend a maximum of 4 persons in cabins. There are also 2 apartments with 2 bedrooms (maximum 4 persons) that are slightly more spacious and comfortably furnished and 2 larger apartments each having three twin bedded rooms that can sleep 6 in comfort. Linen, towels and heating are included.
All properties include dishwasher, fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, coffee percolator, cutlery and crockery. Wi-Fi available.

Guests have one boat with the cabins/small apartments (off-season it may be possible to rent an extra boat). The large apartments can have up to two boats per apartment. There is a short walk up to the reception and down to the marina.

There are a number of transfer options. The early SAS flight allows clients to choose public transfers via the two hour fast ferry, which departs from Tromso at 4pm.
Private transfers can be booked. These are by a four hour scenic road journey by minibus/coach from Tromso airport and must be pre-booked and paid. Please contact us BEFORE booking your flights to check which flights coincide with the private transfers. Some guests also opt for car rental.

Boats: 6 days rental included on a 7 night stay. You are responsible for the safe operation of the boat rental. Arvor boats will comfortably fish up to 4 anglers (they are licensed for 6) and have in-board diesels, GPS/Chartplotter/Echo Sounder. A limited number of larger SFC Aluminium boats are available to fish up to 6 anglers.

New for 2018, superbly equipped Jeanneau Marlin 795 boats that fish up to 6. These are great year round boats.

Please note at least one person in the group must have boat operation experience. If born after 1/1/1980 and operating a boat of 25hp and above he/she will be requested to supply an ICC, International Certificate of Competence. This must include coastal navigation to be valid in Norway.

The Dock/Marina is a short walk from the cabins, slightly longer from the standard apartments and 100 yards from the two large apartments. Here there is a room with large freezers for catches; a fish cleaning/filleting area with water supply and a tackle and drying room. Note: anglers must keep the filleting area clean and must dispose of fish waste. Anglers should bring their own filleting knives.
