The Trent-Severn Waterway is a canal route connecting Lake Ontario to Georgian Bay in Ontario, Canada. It's known for its scenic beauty and diverse fishing opportunities and is rated by the team at Anglers World Holidays as one of the finest destinations for big, prolific, hard fighting wild carp. Within a couple of hours drive from Toronto airport you can find scenic swims, uncrowded waters to explore and excellent accommodation.

Carp can be found in various sections of the Trent-Severn Waterway, fish the main river or its numerous interconnected lakes and backwaters. Look for areas with slower-moving water, such as pools, backwaters, and areas near dams and locks. Common carp baits such as boilies, corn, dough balls, and particles work well. Experiment with different baits to see what the carp in that specific area are responding to.

Carp fishing can be productive throughout the fishing season, but spring and autumn are typically considered prime times. During these seasons, carp are more active and may be found in shallower areas. Carp fishing success can be influenced by weather conditions. Overcast days and dawn or dusk periods are often favourable.

Anglers do not have to be carp specialists to get the most out of the prolific carp fishing here in Eastern Canada.

Abundant wildlife is never far away; look out for black bear, moose, bald eagle, osprey and beaver.
