Just 90 minutes easy drive north of Toronto in the Province of Ontario, the scenic Lakeland Region. Mainly Common Carp but Mirror Carp in excess of 30 pounds are also caught. The Trent/Severn System is a meandering scenic waterway with lock gates and quiet lagoon/lake features too. There are a number of bigger lakes on the system like Katchawanooka, Stoney and Buckhorn Lakes to name but a few. Very scenic area, lots of wildlife and excellent carp fishing.
Accommodation at Lakeside Cottages is in five well furnished and comfortable cottages beside the lake where the fishing is good. Boat and kayak hire available.
Accommodation is under new ownership.
Cabins have 3 bedrooms (one with 4 bedrooms) and offer full self-catering facilities. They have a lounge, bathroom and linen/towels are included.
The pleasant town of Lakefield with a bar, shops, supermarket and restaurants is only a mile away. The principal regional town of Peterborough, a thriving centre, is a 15 minute drive.
Fishing: Lots of choices of locations on this scenic water system. Fish from the front lawns or explore. Bait can be ordered in advance. Standard boiled maize (corn) and wheat is usually sufficient. Boilies work but no better. Pre baiting particle and feeding often is the key. Tackle hire is an option too.
