Sturgeon fishing in British Columbia is a popular and exciting activity, drawing anglers from around the world. The Fraser River, in particular, is renowned for its robust sturgeon population The primary sturgeon species targeted in British Columbia is the White Sturgeon. These are large, prehistoric-looking fish that can reach impressive sizes. They range in size from about 10 pounds to well over 500 pounds. On good weather days expect about 10 to 20 takes for the boat per day.
Sturgeon fishing in British Columbia is typically a year-round activity. However, the prime seasons are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). During these times, sturgeon are more active, and the weather is generally favourable. Sturgeon are a protected species in British Columbia, and there are strict catch-and-release guidelines in place. It's important to handle the fish with care, minimize their time out of the water, and follow all regulations to ensure their survival.

Passports:
Your passport must be valid for the duration of your stay. You should assume that your passport validity is 10 years from the date of issue.
PLEASE NOTE:
Most people need a visa or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to travel to Canada – not both. You do not need a visa for short visits (normally up to six months). You will need an eTA instead. We advise you apply for an eTA prior to booking flights. A fee of CAD$7 is payable for processing an application for an electronic travel authorization. The eTA website has information about the eTA system and how to apply.

It is more important than ever to get comprehensive travel insurance and check it provides sufficient cover. We recommend that you arrange travel insurance as soon as you book your holiday.
