All restaurants and bars in the town centre are within a short walk.

Fabulous fishing on the River Shannon and Lough Derg for big bags of quality roach, hybrids and bream, sizzling sport can be found here. It is also a great pike fishing location too. PJ will provide advice on fishing locations. The river has 17 new fishing platforms added on a prime section near Rogers Island. The river is noted for excellent roach and hybrids... quality sport. Occasional bream shoals move out of the lough into the river and feeder and pole tactics work well. For quality roach, hybrids and bream pre baiting lough Derg and using a boat for access is a must but you need calm conditions. It is a huge water with lots of sheltered bays and islands. Clear water means finding an ideal depth of 10 to 15 feet and using particle and NOT light coloured groundbait to prebait and feed. Stewed wheat and chopped work are essentials. Volume is critical as shoals can be huge.
