Currygrane in Ballinalee is located just 15 minutes from Longford town in a quiet rural setting on the shoreline of Currygrane Lake, right in the heart of the Upper Shannon & Erne Waterway. Excellent coarse fishing for quality bream on the feeder. Fish the pole and waggler for prolific roach, hybrids and tench. 

This compact stone cottage has two en-suite bedrooms; one with double bed and one with twin beds. Bed linen is supplied, but take your own towels. It is centrally heated throughout and has a combined lounge and kitchen.

Currygrane Lake has a wide variety of fish including pike, bream, tench, perch and roach in relatively unexplored waters. There is a slipway and boat house fifty yards from the lodge, with boat and outboard engine provided for the sole use of the occupants. There is also tackle storage and bait fridges. The Lodge is within easy reach of the River Shannon at Lanesborough and the River Inny and numerous other lakes are nearby.  

The nearest pub and shop are located 1.5km away.

Fishing in Co Longford

Longford is 'Big Fish' country with exciting prospects offered by some of the Shannon's most famous hot-spots like Lanesborough, Tarmonbarry weir and the Kilglass Lakes system near Strokestown. There are dozens of lakes offering quality bream, tench, hybrids, roach, rudd and huge pike.

The northern end of the county takes in several of the top class Gowna lakes. Strokestown lies on the border of counties Longford and Roscommon, this attractive town is located in the heart of superb bream, rudd and tench fishing. Put in a little effort and you can enjoy great sport in little fished waters of great potential. Boat hire can often be a bonus for better access on some lakes. Upper Erne waters like Gowna are within a short drive.
