Primarily Belize is a fly fishing destination, though there are opportunities for light to medium spin casting in several jungle rivers and coral reefs, for various species including tarpon and snook.
General Seasons: Bonefish are caught year-round. Permit fishing is better in Winter/Spring/Summer. Tarpon is somewhat migratory with the better fishing being from April to August. The prime months for a Grand Slam (all 3 species in one day) are in June, July and August. Snook can be caught year-round in the quieter backwater and mangrove channels.
