Clock Tower kitchen
Governor's Lodge dining room
Baronscourt in Newtownstewart, County Tyrone and the home of the Duke of Abercorn’s family since 1612, is among that handful of old family Estates in the British Isles which combine great historical and architectural interest with a landscape of outstanding natural beauty. Situated just 10 minutes from the estate you will have access to two private beats on the River Mourne for spring salmon, summer grilse and autumn salmon fishing. The season starts on 1st April and closes on 20th October each year. Each beat holds two rods and a friendly ghillie / guide is on hand to provide expert local advice and give you the best chance to catch a salmon.
Accommodation is provided in two estate cottages, Governors Lodge and The Clock Tower.
The Governors Lodge can easily accommodate 4 adults. The ground floor has a spacious dining room with a wood burning stove. A modern, compact, and a fully equipped kitchen leads off the dining room. The living room has an open fire. On the first floor there are two twin bedrooms, one with an adjoining bathroom, the second with an en-suite shower room.
The Clock Tower within the original stable yard is extremely spacious, open-plan, and has a fully equipped kitchen/dining area, with magnificent views over the parkland and the Stable Yard. On the first floor is the main living room with a wood burning stove. This also has beautiful views over the un-spoilt parkland where the lawn in front can be used for sitting outdoors or overlooking the courtyard. The two twin bedrooms are situated either side of the living area, one with an en-suite bathroom, the second with a shower room and WC.
