Tastefully decorated one bedroom cottage located 3km from Avoca Village where the TV series ‘Ballykissangel’ was filmed. The kitchen/living room has an open fire, wooden floor and pine dresser. There is a double and single bed in the bedroom and the bathroom has a bath and shower. The cottage also has from a washing machine. Set in an acre of enclosed gardens the cottage has a large patio area.
Avoca has a pub, grocers and pharmacy and is also home to 'Avoca Handweavers'. With its craft and gift shop, visitor centre, café and tours of the weaving mill that dates back to 1723 it is well worth a visit. Other local attractions include Glendalough (valley of two lakes) boasting a fascinating monastic history and stunning scenery; Meeting of the Waters where the poet Thomas Moore composed his famous Irish melody of the same name; Wicklow historic Gaol; Avondale House; Glenmalure Valley and Waterfall and Powerscourt House & Gardens. For a day trip why not choose from Arklow (9km), Clogha (12km), Ballymoney (14km), Courtown (17km) and just 19km away is the beautiful beach of Brittas Bay, with the renowned 'European Golf Club' running alongside. Dublin is only 64km and easily accessible by train from the local station.
