The Bella Vista is one of the top angling providers in the harbour. They have a fleet of 17.5ft – 18ft self drive Warrior/Raider Boats fully fitted for inshore or deep sea angling in Cork Harbour. The boats were carefully selected as one of the safest and optimally designed boats for the inshore sea angler. Fitted with 80 and 100 HP four stroke engines, these boats are swift and make sure that you can get the most out of your fishing time in the harbour. There is also VHF radio, Garmin GPS / Plotter and Garmin Fish finder all fitted as standard. Each boat can fish up to maximum of four and has two bucket seats on swivels for maximum comfort. A new Raider 18ft Cuddy joined the fleet in 2011 and is a very comfortable spacious platform for 4 anglers. Skippered fishing can be arranged.
Dave Lewis - “Located at Cobh in expansive Cork Harbour, the second biggest natural harbor in the world, the hotel Bella Vista has become established as one of Irelands premier sea angling destinations. Within a short drive you’ll find limitless shore angling venues to fish, but most visiting anglers focus more upon the outstanding boat angling. Charter boats and specialist, locally based bass guides can be booked, but most anglers fish aboard the hotels fleet of superb, and especially well equipped self-drive boats. You can even arrange for a guide to accompany you out on a day or two to help get you familiar with handling the boat and the local area.
In the event of bad weather you’ll find a great many excellent sheltered areas to fish in and around the harbour, notably for bass, flatfish, mullet and ray. Outside the reef fishing over marks such as the famous Ling Rocks produces plenty of pollack, cod, coalfish and of course ling, along with numerous other reef species. Finally the shark fishing, which starts less than five miles from the harbour mouth, is outstanding, with double digit catches of blue shark to well over 100lb regarded as being common occurrences throughout the peak summer months. Certainly the Bella Vista is my favourite sea angling hotel in southern Ireland”
