The Three Kings and Princess Group are a group of 13 very remote rocky uninhabited islands surrounded by deep waters, offering excellent opportunities for fishing. Some of the popular fish species that can be targeted around the Three Kings Islands include:
• Yellowtail Kingfish 15 – 25kg average with 30kg fish common and the odd 40+kg fish on most trips.
• Marlin – Stripies 90 – 200kg, Blues and Blacks 150 – 400+kg
• Broadbill Swordfish – weather dependant 200kg up to 400+kg
• Hapuku – 20 average up to 50kg
• Bass or Wreckfish – 20 – 40kg average up to 60 – 70kg
• King Terekihi – good table fish caught in good numbers
• Other common fish – Trevally, bluenose, gemfish
• Other gamefish – Tuna (skipjack, slender, albacore and yellowfin) – Mahi mahi

The fishing territory consists of several banks (such as the King and Middlesex Banks) with a range of deep trenches and sea mounts where the South Pacific Ocean and Tasman Sea converge. The islands are situated on a submarine plateau and amongst abundant upwelling’s and strong currents that produces some of New Zealand's most sensational fishing.

Passport validity:
To enter New Zealand, your passport must have an ‘expiry date’ at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave. If you’re travelling through another country on your way to or from New Zealand, check the entry requirements for that country. Many countries will only allow entry if you have at least 6 months’ validity remaining on your passport.

It is important that you check both your issue date and expiry date on your passport. If you have renewed your passport early in the past, the passport office could have added these extra months to your expiry date. Some countries, particularly in the EU, do not recognise these extra months. You should assume that your passport validity is 10 years from the date of issue.

NZeTA:
You do not need a visa to enter New Zealand if you are a visitor staying less than 6 months.

You do need a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA). You will also need to pay an International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy when you apply.

Allow up to 72 hours for it to be processed. Your NZeTA is valid for up to 2 years.

At New Zealand border control, you will also need to show that you meet the criteria for visa-free entry:
• proof of a return or onward ticket
• proof that you have enough money for your stay

New Zealand Traveller Declaration
Everyone travelling into New Zealand needs to complete a New Zealand Traveller Declaration. It is free and you can do it via the online form or the NZTD app. There is a paper declaration form available for travellers who cannot complete it online.

https://app.travellerdeclaration.govt.nz/

Your declaration is linked to your passport and is checked when you arrive at the eGate or by a border officer. If you hold a New Zealand visa or a NZeTA, you still need to complete a declaration as well.

Travelling by air:
The earliest you can submit your declaration is 24 hours before you start your trip to New Zealand. It needs to be submitted by the time you reach passport control in New Zealand.

Travel Insurance:
It is more important than ever to get comprehensive travel insurance and check it provides sufficient cover. We recommend that you arrange travel insurance as soon as you book your holiday.

Insurance should cover your itinerary, planned activities and expenses in an emergency.
