In association with our angling consultant Kevin McKie, Anglers World Holidays is now offering fishing holidays to a new destination in the Arctic Circle. Located at Norway’s crown, Sørøya is an island that enthrals visitors with its breathtaking natural beauty. Trips are available from April 2024.
Nestled amidst the icy waters of the Barents Sea, Sørøya attracts anglers seeking a unique experience in an untouched wilderness. As you set foot on the island, you’ll be welcomed by an enchanting landscape that seamlessly blends with mighty fjords. The mesmerising play of light further enhances the island’s pull as the Northern Lights illuminate the winter’s night sky.
Sørøya boasts a rich marine ecosystem, the most noticeable in its waters being the renowned Atlantic cod, making for an angler’s dream. We will be targeting Halibut, Cod, Wolffish, Coalfish, Haddock and Plaice.
It is simply where you can catch the biggest cod in the world.
Sørøya currently holds the record for the world’s biggest cod at 103lb 10oz, so if you cast your lines into the island’s icy waters, you too may get a record-breaking catch.
This Arctic gem in Norway is a testament to the raw beauty of our world, inviting you to explore and be captivated by its wonders.
We are planning a trip in April 2024, if you would like to join us on this fishing adventure to Sørøya, please call Anglers World Holidays at 01246 221717.
