Lyngen North is located about 2 hours from Tromso in the Lyngen Fjord near the junction with the Rotsund Fjord.
Self-catering is available in two cabins each sleeping 4 in two bedrooms with two single beds. The cabins have bathroom with sauna, comfortable lounge with dining area and fitted kitchen with all facilities needed for a self-catering holiday. Linen/towels and heating are included. The owner/manager, Torbjørn lives in the adjacent farmhouse. It is possible to stop at shops for supplies on your transfer from the airport and the owner will take guests into town for shoping once during your stay.
Fishing is excellent for cod, coalfish, halibut and haddock close to the cottages. In spring time you will catch big cod to 40 pounds and big wolfish to 20+ pounds. Big coalfish 20 to 30 pounders are caught in July through to September. Cod fishing is best in May to September and halibut is best July to September.
Boats are Arvor 215 and new large Aluminium boats; 22 foot, 100hp inboard diesel with Echo sounder, digital map and GPS. They have a forward cabin and are perfect for 4 anglers. This boat is ideal for all seasons and being diesel is cheaper to operate (marine diesel fuel half the price of petrol). A must have boat in Spring and Autumn. Lifejackets supplied, during spring and autumn floatation suits are advised. Fuel is paid for locally and is supplied by the lodge. Please note at least one person in the group must have boat operation experience. If born after 1/1/1980 and operating a boat of 25hp and above he/she will be requested to supply an ICC, International Certificate of Competence. This must include coastal navigation to be valid in Norway. Safety: fish in pairs and take your mobile telephone with lodge emergency number.
