Tarpon’s Nest Lodge is situated close to amenities and the harbour and being close to San Juan means that guests not only have access to prime fishing spots but also to the attractions, dining, and nightlife of Puerto Rico's capital. It is a private villa style property on the water in a residential area and within a short walk of the many street food style cafe restaurants which provide good value food. It is where the locals eat!

Bedrooms are well furnished and air conditioned. Ten single/doubles with one Queen sized bed. One bedroom has a large bed and second smaller bed again air conditioned. We accommodate one angler per room with 2 sharing a boat/guide. Two couples would therefore have two bedrooms and one boat guide unless all four wanted to fish. Arrangements can be made for non-anglers with visits to beaches, shopping malls and rainforest nature areas.

There are two comfortable lounge areas a patio with small swimming pool and a bar area where breakfast and lunch is served (included on fishing days.)

The property is located just 15 minutes from the airport and the end of the runway faces the lagoon. Expect aircraft noise until 11pm and from around 0430 hours. We did not find it an issue.

The Torrecilla Lagoon interconnects with 6 other lagoons offering superb guided fishing for prolific and big Tarpon and small to medium size snook. The lodge has experienced guides and excellent inshore boats with excellent facilities. All tackle and bait is supplied.

Fly fishing for tarpon: Anglers should take their own fly gear; require 8 to 10 weight rods, Sink tippets essential. Floating and medium sink lines, saltwater gear. Expect tarpon in the 5 to 80lb range but with the chance of 100lb plus fish. Fly fishing tackle and the best flies can be supplied locally with prior notice.
