Located in the Indian Ocean and forming part of the Republic of Mauritius, Rodrigues Island is known for its pristine beaches, coral reefs, and vibrant marine life. It offers a tropical climate, which is pleasant throughout the year, rain is quite rare. The average temperature ranges from 29°C to 34°C during summer (November to April). The temperature is cooler during the winter months (May to October).
On a recent trip in November 2023, fishing guide Kevin McKie and his guests caught over 30 different species of fish, most of them they didn’t even target!

• Dogtooth Tuna to 143lb
• Gray Reef Shark to 100lb
• Yellow Fin Tuna to 75lb
• Wahoo to 65lb
• Barracuda to 45lb
• Coral Trout to 40lb
• Red Bass to 35lb

Itinerary:
1st Day - Arrive in Rodrigues Island from the UK
2nd Day - Rest day
3rd Day - Sail to Eastern Bank at 8am and troll lures on route
4th & 5th Day - Fish Eastern Bank
6th Day - Return to Rodrigues Island at 6pm and troll lures on route
7th & 8th Days - Rest days
9th Day - Sail to Hawkins Bank at 4pm and troll lures on route
10th, 11th & 12th Days - Fish Hawkins Bank
13th Day - Return to Rodrigues Island at 9am and troll lures on route
14th Day - Fly back to the UK
Accommodation for 14 nights on a B&B basis is reserved in a guesthouse, just in case the weather is bad. If this is the case, you will resort to day charters around the island.
Be under no illusion this place can be brutal both physically and mentally when the fish are on the feed in a hot humid tropical environment. It is very important to have two rest days in between both live aboard charters. This also allows for lots of flexibility. If there is a day or two of bad weather the sailing dates and times can be changed to suit according to the weather forecast.

Your captain, Yann Colas is an excellent skipper and nothing is too much trouble for him. You can fish for what you want and whatever method suits you. He has a highly passionate and motivated team of young Rodriguan mates, Toc and Mathieu, who are well versed with the different fishing techniques and will happily share their knowledge and experiences with you. The whole team is at your service to make sure you experience the trip of a lifetime!
Boat - Black Marlin is a 50 feet Legend specially designed for the Rodriguan waters. The boat has a large living area and fully equipped kitchen. There are 9 bunks, toilets and showers. Bed sheets and towels are provided.
