Selinda Camp, Botswana

Set on a palm-studded island along the Selinda Spillway, Selinda Camp enjoys a spectacular setting overlooking sweeping floodplains dotted with termite mounds and distant palms.

Description

Recently rebuilt and refurbished, Selinda Camp combines refined luxury with a deep sense of place, offering a comfortable and elegant base in one of Botswana’s most wildlife-rich regions.

The camp features nine spacious safari tents, each raised on polished wooden decking beneath high thatched roofs. Inside, guests will find beautifully styled interiors with dark wood furnishings, fine linens, and either double or twin beds. En-suite bathrooms include large stone bathtubs and open-style showers with classic brass fittings, while sliding doors allow for either privacy or an open-air experience. Each tent also has a generous private veranda, perfect for relaxing and taking in the surrounding wilderness.

The main lodge is designed to make the most of its exceptional views, with a comfortable lounge and elevated dining area overlooking the floodplains and Spillway. Guests can enjoy meals under the stars on the outdoor deck, while a well-stocked wine cellar and an upstairs reading area—featuring a library and a collection of Beverly Joubert’s National Geographic photography—offer quieter moments of retreat. A plunge pool set in lush grass provides a refreshing escape during the warmer hours of the day.

A range of safari activities brings the landscape to life. Morning and evening game drives reveal the area’s abundant wildlife, while guided walks offer a closer look at the bush. Boat trips and seasonal fishing add a water-based dimension, and afternoon excursions often explore the nearby Zibadianja Lagoon and Linyanti River. With its open plains and high game densities, Selinda Camp promises consistently rewarding and memorable wildlife encounters.
