Great value world class sea fishing for huge cod, wolf fish and coalfish. Scenic Fjord location.

Description

Skjervoy in North Norway is an ideal angling centre located where the Arctic and the Gulf Stream meet with huge natural fish stocks. There are lots of good fishing marks within the Kvaenangen Fjord which is reasonably sheltered. This fishing centre has been at the forefront of self-use boat fishing for over 10 years and is the most popular for visiting UK anglers.

Accommodation
Accommodation at Skjervoy is let from Tuesday to Tuesday for either 7 or 14 nights. There are eight comfortable newly refurbished cabins with two bedrooms in each cabin, large shower room, open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen. Cabins are centrally heated and linen/towels are included. We recommend a maximum of four persons in cabins.

There are also a number of apartments available. Three apartments have two bedrooms (maximum four persons) that are slightly more spacious and comfortably furnished.

Two larger apartments, also ideal for families, have three rooms with a double and five single beds. There is also a one-bedroom apartment with balcony and lovely view. It is ideal for two adults with two beds. It is also possible to put a single bed in the living room.

All properties include dishwasher, fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, coffee percolator, cutlery and crockery. Wi-Fi is available. Linen, towels and heating are included.

Boats
Guests have one boat with the cabins/small apartments (off-season it may be possible to rent an extra boat). The large apartments can have up to two boats per apartment.

6 days rental is included on a 7 night stay.
Boats are superbly equipped Merry Fisher Marlin 795 boats. These are great year round boats. They have Yamaha 150hp outboard petrol engines and on-board cabin heaters. They are excellent boats for 4-5 anglers and are perfect for fishing March into October thus extending the season. You are responsible for accommodation, boats and equipment used. Any damage to the boat or motor must be reported to the staff immediately and must be paid for before departure. Damage to the propeller or motor or any excessive damage to the boat will be charged at 10,000NOK. Please note for your own safety it is important that you follow the camps guidelines regarding the maximum distance that you may travel out to sea. Do NOT exceed these limits.

Petrol for the Marlin boats is obtained from the Automatic Pumps in the marina – pay by credit card only. It is a 24 hour service at the marina pump.
At least one person in the group must have boat operation experience. If born after 1/1/1980 and operating a boat of 25hp and above he/she will be requested to supply an ICC, International Certificate of Competence. This must include coastal navigation to be valid in Norway. You are responsible for the safe operation of the boat rental.

The dock is a short walk from the cabins, slightly longer from the standard apartments and 100 yards from the two large apartments. Here there is a room with large freezers for catches; a fish cleaning/filleting area with water supply and a tackle and drying room. Note: anglers must keep the filleting area clean and must dispose of fish waste. Anglers should bring their own filleting knives.

Please note registered fishing camps are obliged to report catches to the fisheries authorities and visiting anglers are now required to complete a catch report whilst in resort.
