There are six guest rooms above the pub, all en-suite with flat screen television. After a relaxing night you can start your day with a traditional cooked breakfast. Eileen can provide a packed lunch to keep you going until you return at the end of a day sightseeing or fishing to enjoy a home-cooked meal. (Packed lunches and evening meals must be requested in advance).
There is private parking and facilities for the angler include bait fridges, drying room and laundry facilities. Boat hire and fishing guide can be arranged.

Fishing in Co Cork
Fishing at Inniscarra Lake offers a rewarding experience with its variety of fish species and well-maintained facilities. It is part of the River Lee system which runs through Cork City and surrounding areas. Located near Coachford, the lake is known for its scenic beauty and abundant fish populations, making it a prime destination for anglers.
The lake has several designated angling sections, particularly along the banks near Coachford, which have well-maintained fishing pegs that offer comfortable and accessible fishing spots. Ample parking is available near popular fishing sections. Boats can be hired for those who prefer fishing from the water. This can be particularly effective for targeting deeper areas of the lake. A prime pole fishing destination, but waggler and feeder tactics also work well. Water levels do vary as this is a reservoir. Fish for quality bream, which are often found in large shoals, small rudd, perch and hybrids with anglers regularly reporting 100 to 200lb catches in a day’s fishing. Tench are usually found in weedy areas of the lake. There are also roach and even carp, appearing in catches.
Inniscarra Lake consistently produces some of the best fishing in Europe with little angling pressure and easy access and it hosts a number of angling competitions. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a beginner, the lake provides excellent opportunities for a successful fishing trip.
The River Blackwater, which flows through County Cork and several other counties in Ireland, is another excellent spot for coarse fishing. Popular fishing locations include Fermoy, a well-known stretch of the river for coarse fishing. The town provides easy access to the river and good facilities for anglers. Mallow offers excellent fishing spots, especially near the weir and along the riverbanks. Ballyhooly is known for its quieter fishing spots and Killavullen is another productive area with several accessible fishing points. Parking is available near most popular fishing spots, particularly around towns like Fermoy and Mallow.
The River Blackwater is rich in various species of coarse fish, including bream which are often found in deeper pools and slower sections of the river. Roach are abundant and can be caught throughout the river. Perch are common in the river, tench are less common but are present in certain areas. Larger pike can be targeted in deeper areas and near structures. You should bring your ground bait feeder kit, waggler, sliding float and pole gear.
The River Lee is also home to a variety of coarse fish species, including bream, roach, perch and pike. Tench are less common but can be found in quieter backwaters. Fish the River Lee at Coachford near the Inniscarra Dam which is known for its rich fish population and organized fishing areas. Various spots within Cork City can offer good coarse fishing opportunities, especially along the quays and near bridges. Ballincollig offers several good fishing spots along the river, accessible from the regional park.
The Dripsey River flows into the River Lee and is a smaller river ideal for peaceful fishing with roach, dace and the occasional trout. Carrigadrohid Reservoir has good shore fishing spots and boat access. Fish for bream, roach, perch and pike here.
Spring and Summer are the prime time for coarse fishing, with fish being more active in warmer waters. Pike fishing can be particularly productive during colder months.
Wherever you fish in Ireland, the chances of catching fish are hugely improved by pre-baiting to attract fish into your chosen swim. Ideally this is done the evening before (or for a couple of days) using breadcrumb or local maize meal carrying particle baits such as sweetcorn, boiled wheat, hemp and pellets. Early morning and late evening are generally more productive as fish tend to feed more actively during these times.
