Botswana Fishing Holidays

Where the thrill of the wild meets the calm of the water—Botswana’s safari and fishing adventure in perfect harmony.

Discover world-class fishing holidays in Botswana

A friendly country about the size of France, Botswana has a population of just 2.3 million. Tourism is central to its economy, supported by high education standards, low crime, and a strong stance against corruption.

Seasons are opposite to the UK:

Summer (Botswana) = Winter (UK), Autumn = Spring, Winter = Summer, Spring = Autumn

The spectacular Okavango Delta in the north offers year-round tiger fishing alongside world-class wildlife safaris across up to 22,000 km² of wilderness.

Bordered by Namibia, Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and South Africa, the main gateway to the Delta is Maun. The most convenient route from the UK is with Ethiopian Airlines via Addis Ababa.

Flexible and comfortable fishing accommodation

Fly-in safari lodges place you deep in the African bush, offering close wildlife encounters in complete comfort. Small Explorer camps (4–12 guests) provide an intimate experience, often with animals moving freely through camp. With no fences, guests are escorted between tents after dark and may hear lions nearby or spot hippos and hyenas around camp.

Selected lodges also combine exceptional safaris with catch-and-release tiger fishing in protected no-hunting areas. Most packages are all-inclusive, with only staff tips extra.

For a more relaxed stay, Thamo Telele Giraffe Reserve offers peaceful wildlife viewing in a predator-free private reserve, with comfortable tented accommodation and full-board dining.
