Traditionally a fishing community Havoysund, one of the most northerly fishing centres, is surrounded by rugged cliffs, fjords, and the open sea with some of the very best fishing grounds in Norway. Fish for halibut, cod, catfish and plaice. The area is also home to diverse wildlife, including seabirds and marine animals. It’s also a great spot for birdwatching and spotting seals. Overall, Havoysund offers a unique blend of natural beauty, rich culture, and outdoor adventure, making it a hidden gem in Norway with some of the best halibut action..
Norway Guide Fishing are our partners based in Havoysund and they offer accommodation, boat and all facilities for a successful fishing holiday.
Accommodation is in six well-furnished apartments each with a boat. Apartments are 2 to 3 bedroom with kitchen (dishwasher, microwave etc.), toilet with shower, and living room with wireless internet and TV. Bed linen and towels are included.
Facilities such as an indoor cleaning room, a freezer room and a drying area for clothing are located on the quay in front of the houses. There is a small tackle shop on site. Fishing tackle and flotation suits can be rented if required. A supermarket, hotel with pub and restaurant, a bank, cafe/grill and the petrol station are all within 200m of the accommodations.
Boats are 23.5ft “Arronet” equipped with 135/150hp Honda/Yamaha environmentally friendly four-stroke engines. They have 12-inch plotter/sounder/radar, GPS tracker and radios with DSC emergency call. Norway Guide Fishing really prioritises sea safety. Much has been invested to make the boats the safest and best you can rent in Norway.
We recommend 4 anglers per apartment/boat.
Boats have a full tank at pick-up and are refuelled directly from a petrol station on the quay.
Accommodation is for 7 nights on a self-catering basis with 6 full fishing days, where you can fish as much as you want, weather permitting. Arrival day is Thursday.
Transfers (included) are self-drive, you pick up your vehicle at Alta airport and take a scenic three hour drive to the camp, using the vehicle on your return trip.
