Alaska is renown for its huge wilderness and amazing salmon runs. Some river systems also receive good late summer runs of steelhead trout (rainbows that spend most of their life feeding in saltwater but return to freshwater to spawn late in the autumn). Chinook, chum, pink and coho (silver) salmon start to arrive in early summer and continue through the short summer months. The uniquely located Silver Salmon Creek Lodge in Lake Clark has amazing runs of coho right through summer. Here you fly fish in a rare wilderness setting where the coastal brown bear (grizzly) is king. Great fishing and photo opportunities combined. Full board and fully guided packages but book early this small family owned lodge sells out fast.

Alaska is the largest and least populated state in the USA. Renown for dramatic scenery, diverse terrain, rugged mountains, forests and rivers that literally fill with salmon in summer. Mount McKinley also known as Denali is the highest mountain in North America. Known as the world's last great frontier Alaska has magnificent scenery, amazing wildlife and awesome fishing for salmon, rainbow trout, steelhead, grayling and halibut.

Anchorage is the main gateway for our fishing and touring holiday options. Great halibut fishing at Seward in the Pacific Ocean. Choose an exclusive fly out lodge for great Chinook and Coho salmon or take a self drive tour and combine salmon, trout and grayling fishing.

The Alaska Railroad that links Anchorage and Fairbanks (an 8 hour scenic journey through prime wilderness) offers a break of journey at the historic town of Talkeetna where you can enjoy excellent day and half day guided fishing for salmon and trout. A few stop further up the line is a stop for Denali National Park. Stunning scenery, great wildlife viewing for moose, brown bear and caribou with river fishing for Arctic Grayling. We advise a two night stay deep in the park at Kantishna. Its a 7 hour trek in from Denali Station by Park Bus.

Book into an exclusive fly in lodge for world class salmon and steelhead on fly tackle or take a self drive tour by car or motor camper and explore and fish enroute. There are countless touring/sightseeing and fishing options here.

Seward is a scenic fjord town that offers great sea fishing for halibut in early to mid summer. Exciting trips by road and boat to visit impressive glaciers that calve directly into the Pacific Ocean.
